Where Your Money Goes

All of the funds raised by MS is BS are donated to the National MS Society. The National MS Society and individuals nationwide relentlessly advocate every day for community, state, and federal issues that impact the lives of people with MS. NMSS activists are the voices of change for the approximately 400,000 people living with MS nationwide.

Initiatives of the National MS Society

To achieve the vision of a world free of MS, the National MS Society is a driving force of MS research, relentlessly pursuing prevention, treatment and cure. The NMSS devotes nearly $50 million each year to a spectrum of key initiatives and other projects based on the guiding principles of Speed, Collaboration and Possibilities:

  • Speed
Finding expeditious ways to conduct research, forge relationships, bridge barriers and garner resources to propel research forward
  • Collaboration
Fostering coalitions worldwide with experts in other fields and diseases to make rapid and meaningful progress
  • Possibilities
Fueling novel ideas, potential therapies, projects and technologies to discover and pursue every avenue that holds promise

Funds raised support local programs and services, national initiatives, and cutting-edge research to help people affected by multiple sclerosis. Each year, our team pledges to raise over $15,000 for the National MS Society, and every dollar raised really does make a difference.

  • $25 provides one month of an emergency response system
  • $50 provides three hours of home health aide care
  • $75 provides basic access ramp for home
  • $100 provides two one-hour yoga classes for a person with MS
  • $150 provides in-home occupational therapy assessment to maximize independence and safety
  • $250 provides emergency funds for families, children and persons diagnosed with MS to purchase needed supplies
  • $500 provides six weeks of professionally facilitated group counseling
  • $1,000 funds one month of peer counseling support for 300 people with MS

Join the movement and donate now to create a world free of MS. Whether you want to make a one-time or recurring gift, a planned gift, fundraise at our events or give at your workplace, you’ll know your contribution is helping to fund cutting-edge research, drive change through advocacy, facilitate professional education, and provide programs and services to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
